TThe Achmea Foundation was established in 2006 in the belief that people should be able to participate fully in society. We advocate for vulnerable people in the Netherlands and abroad. We support initiatives in the fields of agriculture, healthcare and financial services of an innovative character. This substantive focus is a reflection of its parent company Achmea: a financial services provider, the largest health insurer and an agricultural background.

Achmea was founded more than two hundred years ago out of solidarity, based on the realisation that you are stronger together than alone. For the Achmea Foundation, as well, this is still the guiding motive to this day. We believe in the power of togetherness. We work with partners and invest in the empowerment of people in vulnerable situations. As a foundation, we make an impact by connecting, working together and looking out for each other.
